These experiences inspired her to create her own interview show, Purpose TV. While editing the first season, Kisha developed a deep appreciation for post-production, leading her to learn video editing and production—skills that became the foundation of Purpose Productions.

In 2013, she expanded her creative work by launching Purpose Photography. Her excellence in visual storytelling earned her Photographer of the Year (2017) and Producer of the Year (2018) honors at the Featured Highlight Awards. She is also a published photographer.

​

In 2020, Kisha entered radio broadcasting as the host of Sensual Seductions. When the station went on hiatus, she transformed disappointment into opportunity by launching Onyx Urban Radio, an internet-based station dedicated to uplifting the Black community through independent music and podcast programming.

​

In 2022, Kisha launched Onyx Urban Magazine, where she currently serves as Editor-in-Chief, publisher, writer/interviewer, production manager, and graphic designer. The magazine is supported by a dedicated team of writers and focuses on culture, creativity, and community. That same year, she founded the Onyx Urban Media Awards, created to honor independent artists whose music is featured on Onyx Urban Radio.

In 2023, Kisha expanded into film, submitting her first short film, All My Might: A Story of Domestic Violence, to a film festival. The film won Best Drama at the Spring Lane Film Festival, marking a powerful milestone in her storytelling journey.

In 2024, she launched Onyx Urban Gear, a lifestyle apparel brand, and hosted the second Onyx Urban Media Awards, introducing the Music Community Awards to recognize performers, DJs, producers, venues, and community contributors who play vital roles in the local music ecosystem.

As part of the Onyx Urban transformation, Kisha intentionally shifted the brand to Onyx Urban Enterprises LLC to align more closely with her life’s purpose: helping people heal, reconnect with themselves, and walk confidently in their purpose. As a result of this alignment, I have made the intentional decision to revamp the Purpose TV Podcast, continue Onyx Urban Radio, and expand with the addition of the Becoming Whole community and Kalèa Ashè Holistic Wellness. In alignment with this evolution, my business has been renamed Onyx Urban Enterprises LLC. At the same time, I have completed and lovingly released several chapters of the brand, including Onyx Films & Photography, the Onyx Urban Awards Show, and Onyx Urban Magazine. These cycles have been fulfilled. I feel their completion deeply, and I am incredibly proud of what was built and accomplished. A chapter has closed, and a new one has begun.
